An open house is amazing and very eye opening event to the organizational capabilities of the church. Can you imagine what it takes to build a major building that contains stone from France and wood from Africa and the best of the best coming from all over? Can you imagine what it takes to present the completed building to thousands of people in an orderly and uplifting manner? I was truly amazed at all the volunteers, the program that introduced the temple, the organized manner in which we were bussed to the temple, the live music and refreshments, not to mention the indescribable beauty of the temple itself.
I loved being in the temple and feeling of its power and protection, a sanctuary on the hillside. It was a beautiful sight to see the temple glow as the night sky darkened around it. I hope that my children felt the same spirit there as I did and will want to return when they can.

I LOVE TO SEE THE TEMPLE...
I love to see the temple is not only our favorite family devotional song but now one of our favorite mottos. We loved seeing the Draper open house together on Wednesday, March 4. This makes 3 open houses that I have been a participant in--the Jordan River, the Timpanogos and now the Draper (I was part of the building of the San Deigo temple but came back to Utah before the official open house).
